Introduction to GIMP
GIMP is an acronym for GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed program for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring.

It has many capabilities. It can be used as a simple paint program, an expert quality photo retouching program, an online batch processing system, a mass production image renderer, an image format converter, etc.

GIMP is expandable and extensible. It is designed to be augmented with plug-ins and extensions to do just about anything. The advanced scripting interface allows everything from the simplest task to the most complex image manipulation procedures to be easily scripted.

GIMP is written and developed under X11 on UNIX platforms. But basically the same code also runs on MS Windows and Mac OS X.

Sorteringsprogrammene
I tillegg til redigeringsprogrammene, finnes det også en rekke gratis programmer som er ment til å sortere bildene. Disse har også som regel mulighet til å gjøre små endringer i bildene. Dette begrenser seg riktignok til å fjerne røde øyne, rotere og beskjære. Windows Photo Gallery i Vista er for mange et fullgodt alternativ, men hvis du leter etter noe annet kan vi anbefale deg å prøve Google Picasa eller FastStone Image Viewer. Picasa har en redigeringsdel som lar det gjøre mer med bildene dine enn du kan gjøre i Windows Photo Gallery.

Meget bra til lys-etterbehandling, samt mye annet.

Også når bildene har fått et uønsket fargestikk (feks. grått, blått etc.), veldig lett å redigere.

GRATIS - PhotoScape

PhotoScape er et artig program. Det bruker jeg gjerne etter lysreguleringer i Picasa.

Kan lysregulere i PhotoScape også, men der liker jeg best Picasa. Dette bildet er etterbehandlet i PhotoScape.
